Namsan Tower Food Guide: A Classic Pork Cutlet Restaurant with a Panoramic Seoul View

Namsan Tower’s Hidden Charm:

A Classic Korean Pork Cutlet Restaurant "Yeban"

Many visitors head to Namsan Tower for its stunning panoramic view of Seoul.
But for Koreans, Namsan is associated with something else too—pork cutlets (donkatsu).
Did you know that the area around Namsan is famous for old-style pork cutlet restaurants?

A number of 1980s-style Korean “gyeongyangsik” donkatsu spots are clustered around the mountain, and many of them have continued their legacy for decades.
Today, I’m introducing one of those long-loved restaurants.

🏞️ Discovering “Yeban,” a Pork Cutlet Restaurant Near Namsan Tower

I had always heard that there was a pork cutlet restaurant at the top of Namsan, but I never had the chance to visit—until now. Despite its age, the place won me over with its beautiful view and surprisingly tasty donkatsu.

There are several ways to reach Namsan Tower, and one of the most popular is taking the cable car.
This restaurant, Yeban (예반), is located just above the cable car station, making it a convenient stop before or after visiting the tower.

🌆 First Impressions: Vintage Interior, Stunning View

The moment you walk into the restaurant, large windows reveal a sweeping view of Seoul. I remember saying “Wow!” as soon as I saw it.

The interior isn’t trendy or modern—more old-fashioned and vintage—but that gives it a charming, nostalgic feel.
I wanted to sit by the window, but all the seats with the best views were already taken.

🍽️ What I Ordered: Handmade King-Sized Pork Cutlet

I went with the restaurant’s signature dish, the Handmade King Donkatsu, the most basic and popular menu item.
They also offer udon, omurice, and several other dishes.
Many people around me ordered beer to enjoy with the view—honestly, a great idea.

Just like its name suggests, the donkatsu was quite large.
Korean-style pork cutlets are known for their crispy coating and sweet, savory sauce, and this place delivered exactly that.

The pork was tender, and the flavor was satisfying.
If you visit Korea, trying Korean donkatsu should definitely be on your food list!

🚶‍♀️ After the Meal

After finishing my meal, I took a brief walk around the Namsan Tower area before heading back down by bus.
There are many cafes with great views nearby, but I was too full to stop by one this time.

Namsan Tower is full of restaurants and cafés, but among them, I wanted to highlight this nostalgic pork cutlet spot. If you’re planning a trip to Namsan, stopping by for donkatsu here can make your visit even more memorable.
