Seoul Tourism Plaza- The Best Place to Start Planning Your Seoul Trip

If you’re planning a trip to Korea but feel unsure about how to organize your itinerary or where to go, why not start by visiting a tourist information center located in the heart of Seoul? Seoul offers a wide range of resources for travelers just like you.   Today, I’d like to introduce the Seoul Tourism Plaza, located near Jonggak Station. Here, you can find general tour information as well as medical tourism guidance, which is becoming increasingly popular in Seoul. The plaza also features a variety of cute and well-designed Korean tourism goods, making it a fun place to browse and shop.   Seoul Tourism Plaza Information Address: 1st Floor, Samil Building, 85 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu, Seoul Nearest Station: Jonggak Station, Exit 4 Opening Hours: 9:00 AM ~ 6:00 PM (Closed on weekends) After exiting Jonggak Station through Exit 4, it’s about a 5-minute walk. Baekbeom Plaza Park in Fall: One of Seoul’s Most Beautiful Seasonal Views

Seoul’s Autumn Colors at Baekbeom Plaza Park

Seoul’s autumn scenery has been absolutely stunning lately. The city is covered in vibrant fall foliage, and everywhere you go, the colors feel magical. I recently visited Baekbeom Plaza Park, and the landscape was so beautiful that I ended up taking countless photos. The weather was perfect, and the scenery—filled with the warm hues of fall—looked almost unreal. Even though it was a weekday, many people were enjoying picnics and taking photos around the park. Still, weekdays are generally quieter, making it a great time to enjoy the park at a slower pace.

Not long ago, I wrote about Shinheung Market in Haebangchon, and Baekbeom Park is actually not far from there. I highly recommend a walking course where you explore Shinheung Market and the surrounding neighborhood first, then continue on to Baekbeom Park. It’s one of my favorite routes.

Features & History of Baekbeom Plaza Park

Baekbeom Park is located near Namsan, offering partial views of the Namsan Tower and even some glimpses of Seoul’s skyline. At the center of the square stands a statue of Kim Gu (Baekbeom), one of Korea’s most respected independence activists—hence the name of the park.

During the Japanese colonial period, a Shinto shrine once stood in this area. After Korea regained independence, the shrine was demolished, and in its place, statues and memorials honoring independence activists were established. It feels meaningful that the site of historical sorrow was transformed into a symbol of resistance and remembrance. It’s both historically significant and fascinating.

Enjoying Autumn at Baekbeom Plaza Park

Take your time walking along the fortress trail—it’s beautiful in every season, but especially in autumn. Strolling inside the park also feels peaceful and refreshing.

The park is gorgeous during the day, but the sunset is truly magical. As the square lights up in the early evening, the atmosphere becomes even more charming.

If you continue walking downhill from the square, you’ll reach Namdaemun Market. Visiting the market after exploring Baekbeom Park is another route I highly recommend.
